People Rise Up Radio Episode 3 we discuss March Against Monsanto's "non-violence" statement

003 – People Rise Up Radio Episode 3 05-21-2013

In case you notice a running theme – on our third show we discussed police brutality, dirty banksters getting sweet deals from the government for stealing people’s homes, and Walmart and The Gap refusing to support worker safety as thousands die in Bangladesh making their shitty clothes.
We also take the ACLU to task for being almost entirely absent while protesters were being beat in the street, but was all up in arms defending the racist Tea Party against the IRS and discuss the whole bourgeois non-profit industrial complex.
We also discuss the hugely disturbing “Non-Violence” statement March Against Monsanto “organizers” issued just days before the marches were to occur. (What a fraud that group turned out to be.)
We also discuss the Obama administration’s War on Journalism as the FBI acting on orders by the DOJ seized AP phone records.

038 – People Rise Up Radio – Prisoner Solidarity Part 1

Over our past 37 episodes we have often spoken of political prisoners. Sometimes those facing the injustice system have been our friends in real life. Always, they are our comrades.

For our first show back, we decided to take a look back and provide updates on prisoners we have featured on past shows.

This episode is part one of two that begins to express our love and rage for our comrades who have been captured by the injustice system.

We speak with ex-prisoner Cecily McMillan of Occupy Wall Street on her experiences with Occupy, the injustice system, and Rikers Island.

We also have a clip provided by Lucy Parks of the #FloodWallStreet12.

And please, in the name of all that is scared – DON’T MAKE PRISONERS TO BEGIN WITH! Learn about Jury Nullification

This episode features the music of Marx Sick Mind https://soundcloud.com/marxsickmind/no-justice-just-us
And Anne Feeney who will be a guest on a future show soon!

Part two of this series will feature Juss with the Cleveland 4 Solidarity Network and Lanz Priestly – recently freed after nine months in prison – of Occupy Sydney Plus clips from Mumia Abu Jamal & Herman Wallace of the Angola 3 courtesy Prison Radio http://prisonradio.org/ and CrimethInc’s Ex-Worker Podcast http://www.crimethinc.com/podcast/. We also give an extensive update on revolutions worldwide that occurred these past seven months.

We also have a clip from CounterSpin – Janine Jackson speaking with Chris King of the St. Louis American, the oldest African American daily in the United States, about Ferguson.

Know Your Rights – Jury Nullification

Wikipedia says Jury Nullification is every jurors duty to ignore those unjust laws and acquit the defendant.
Though is ample case law to support jury nullification in all 50 states and at the federal level, only one state requires jurors to be informed of the power they have to combat unjust laws or laws that are abused by the State.

Hear where it all began.  Our first show was live on www.woodyradio.com.  Speaking and engineering live was quite a challenge and it shows! Listen to our first show – warts and all.

As contributors to Occupy media teams we knew there was not only a need, but a real hunger for accurate news and information. Our main question was what could we bring that wasn’t already out there?
